Data Sources & Limitations

Where the data comes from

Insider transactions come from Form 4 filings published on SEC EDGAR, the SEC's public filing system. The site displays the reported fields: insider, role, transaction code, shares, price, transaction date and filing date.

Filing lag

A Form 4 is due within two business days after the transaction it reports, so a trade appears on EDGAR after it happened and a late filing appears later still. Each page shows both the transaction date and the filing date.

What is not covered

Only transactions reported on Form 4 are shown. Holdings reported on other forms and transactions by people who are not required to file are not part of this data.
